    Gwen and her late husband, Snow, were beef cattle farmers caught up in the Traveston Dam debacle. A very traumatic time for everybody in the Mary Valley in those days with the Beattie government buying up farms condemned to a watery grave and the ATO& Centrelink muddying the waters with conflicting “rulings” on how people were going to be treated. Snow’s health had been failing for years and the lion’s share of responsibility for getting everything done fell to daughter Jeanne and husband, Shane. My sincere thanks to Jeanne for her kind words. By the way, you’ll notice that she wrote “over the years most everyone in the office has been great to work with”.
